Welcome to the EPQ Portal

This platform has been setup to provide you with access to journal articles and e-books to support you with your EPQ project.

Using the search bar above search the topic or term you are looking into. In order to see the full article or ebook you will need to log in.

Material will come back in 5 ways:

  • eBooks – electronic copies of published books

  • Journals - a newspaper or magazine that deals with a particular subject or professional activity

  • News – news articles from relevant publications

  • SPORTDiscus - articles from the sports and sports medicine research database.

  • Research Starters – these could generate a starting point for your research

Think carefully about your search terms, here are some of our tips

  • Use more query terms to get more specific results e.g. Java Coffee, Java Indonesia, Java Programming Language instead of just Java

  • Avoid using a question as a query: How does aspirin benefit health? Instead use Aspirin Health Benefits as search engines use all the words and you’ll get unwanted results

  • Try putting “quotation marks” around your phrase as it will search using only that phrase and not single words

  • Excluding terms. Many search engines will allow you to exclude phrases like virus NOT computer
